Michael later became an actor. Anna Kendrick began auditioning for Broadway shows when she was a teenager in Deering High School in Portland. At age 12 she landed her first major theater part when she joined the group of High Society in 1998. As a child the performance was good enough to win her numerous nominations and awards. In 2003, she was a part-time actress in A Little Night Music. At the age of 15, she made her film debut in Camp in 2003. Kendrick received nominations for her performance, and also for her performance in Rocket Science 2007 at age 15.
